Fr. Thomas Kalapurackal 

Fr. Thomas Kalapurackal is the founder director of Institution for Culture And Rural Development (I-CARD). The Zoom-in-Life studio is a fruit of his dreams since many years and he will render his service as the project co-ordinator of Zoom-In-Life

  • Fr. Thomas Kalapurackal has a Master’s degree in Multicultural Ministry from the USA. 
  • Fr. Thomas has produced over 20 short home videos on a variety of Mising tribal themes, played by school drop out students. 
  • Ashoka Fellowship – In 2002, Fr. K.A. Thomas, founder-director of I-CARD, was selected as a fellow by the USA based Ashoka Foundation, for his work with the school dropouts.
  • In 2011, Fr. Thomas was honoured as a Social Entrepreneur in Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai
  • In 2014, Fr. Thomas was officially honoured by Bane Kebang, the premier and umbrella institution of the Misings, for his development activities for the tribe.
  • Recognition by the District of Jorhat for his contribution to ethnic culture during Republic Day function 2017.
  • Media Coverage: Most local and regional newspapers have been regularly publishing articles about the activities of I-CARD in both English and Assamese.
  • He published the proMising Action cultural magazine about the Mising tribe from 2004 to 2009 and 20 other books about the Mising tribe of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
  • He has done a wide research about the Satra Institution of Assam, and written his book: The Satra Institution of Assam, in the Light of Christian Monasticism.

Director:

Fr. Santosh Mundu

  • An MSW degree holder from Don Bosco College, Angadikadavu, Kerala.
  • Specialised in youth  and community development
  • His field of interest includes social communications, and he works for the social communications department of the region of Dimapur, under the Salesians of Don Bosco, covering Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.

Department of Film/Video Editing 

Debajit Dutta (Head of Department)

Specialist in Video and Film Editing with years of experience. Editor of more than 1000+ VCDs and Documentaries which includes “Tejimola”, “Joymoti”, “Kamala Konwari”, the series of “Xanta Xista Hista Pusta Maha Dusta”, and many more . He is the editor of Award Winning Hollywood movie “One Little Finger” directed by Rupam Sarmah, Award Winning Assamese Film “Riyaaz” directed by Mriganka Borah, and Assamese Film “Wide Angle” directed by Jayanta Nath. He has also worked in many projects led by National Award Winning Director of Assam Mr. Jadumoni Dutta.

Puspalata Mili

Masters in Communication and Journalism from Don Bosco College, Angadikadavu, under the University of Kannur, in Kerala. She will be a resource person, and assistant editor of videos and documentaries in Zoom-in-Life. She has experience in film editing, having produced documentary films for Districts of Jorhat and Dhemaji, Assam, besides having produced a number of home-videos for I-CARD, Jorhat.

 

  • Puspalata is a popular You-Tuber.
  • Mrs. Mili will be the contact person to invite award winning film personnel from Kerala for the film editing department, for on line or off line classes.
  • Puspalata Mili is a recipient of young artists award from Mising Autonomous Council in 2017.
  • Puspalata has produced two documentaries for the district governments of Jorhat and Dhemaji on hygiene and health Please refer to Youtube : KAI NGOLU LOLAD LOPE- a Mising short film on sanitation and health (For Dhemaji District) and SHAPAT(For Jorhat District)
